How I Make My Creamy Protein Coffee
Protein coffee is one of my favorite ways to add extra protein to my day. It tastes creamy, blends beautifully, and can be customized depending on what flavor you want your coffee to be.
Right now, I’m obsessed with salted peanut butter protein powder, but all the flavors are delicious. French vanilla, chocolate, caramel—choose whatever sounds good to you.
What You’ll Need
½ scoop protein powder
½ scoop French vanilla collagen powder
3 ounces freshly brewed coffee
1–2 ice cubes, if needed
A handheld milk frother
The measuring scoops are usually included inside the containers. If you use a different brand or product, check the package because the serving size may be different.
How I Make It
First, I pour approximately three ounces of freshly brewed coffee into a cup.
The temperature of your coffee matters. If it is too hot, the protein powder may clump instead of blending smoothly. Depending on your coffee maker, you may need to add one or two ice cubes to cool the coffee slightly.
Next, I add half a scoop of protein powder and half a scoop of French vanilla collagen powder.
Then I use a handheld frother to blend everything together. The frother is important because it helps dissolve the powders and prevents protein residue from being left at the bottom of the cup.
Once everything is smooth and creamy, my protein coffee is ready to enjoy.
My Protein-Coffee Tip
Experiment with different protein-powder flavors until you find your favorite combination. The flavor you choose will determine what your coffee tastes like, so you can change it whenever you want something different.
The protein and collagen products I use are available in the United States. I’m not currently familiar with the protein-powder options available in Canada, so always check the product label and follow the recommended serving instructions for the brand you purchase.
About Me & My Protein Coffee Journey:
Hi, I’m the creator behind this recipe, and I was born with a deep passion for health and wellness, even though my personal journey has included many challenges along the way. I’m currently going through menopause, and I also live with celiac disease and psoriasis, which has made me even more intentional about what I put into my body and how I support my overall well-being.
I’m a trainer, a certified nutrition coach, and also a life coach, and I love helping others build sustainable habits that actually fit into real life. My approach comes from both education and lived experience.
I’ve also had two C-sections and was orphaned by the age of 34, experiences that have shaped my resilience and my perspective on health, healing, and self-care.
I’ve been making protein coffee for over 3 years as part of my daily wellness routine. What started as a simple way to increase my protein intake has turned into a morning ritual I genuinely look forward to every day.
Over time, I’ve experimented with different protein powders, collagen blends, and coffee combinations to find the perfect creamy texture and flavor balance. This recipe is the result of that ongoing testing and refinement. I love sharing it because it’s simple, customizable, and fits easily into a busy lifestyle.
